<h3>Position Overview</h3>We are seeking dedicated and experienced Community Workers to deliver community development initiatives and participant support services within the NDIS framework. The role involves assessing individual and community needs, facilitating access to appropriate services, coordinating programs, and promoting social inclusion and independence. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement structured support plans and community-based solutions.&nbsp;<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Research, assess, and analyse community and participant needs related to health, welfare, housing, employment, recreation, and other services.</li><li>Develop, evaluate, and maintain participant programs, community projects, and support resources.</li><li>Assist participants experiencing challenges such as social isolation, unemployment, illness, or crisis situations.</li><li>Provide short-term support and guidance, including crisis intervention where required.</li><li>Conduct community consultations to identify local needs, aspirations, and opportunities for engagement.</li><li>Liaise with community groups, government agencies, welfare organisations, and private businesses to coordinate services and promote awareness.</li><li>Support participants to build skills, access training and employment, and develop community connections.</li><li>Assist community groups in applying for funding and establishing partnerships.</li><li>Organise local sporting, cultural and recreational events, including community functions, hobby classes, community arts projects, and sporting competitions.</li><li>Provide support and guidance to clients experiencing challenges such as marital issues, unemployment, illness, substance misuse, or social disadvantage.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and reports to monitor participant progress and program outcomes.</li><li>Ensure all activities comply with NDIS Practice Standards, privacy regulations, and organisational policies.</li><li>Prepare individual support plans, community engagement strategies, and periodic progress reports aligned with participant goals and funding requirements.</li></ul><blockquote>Note: This list is indicative, and duties may change to meet organisational objectives.</blockquote>&nbsp;<h3>Essential Requirements</h3><ul><li>Minimum 1–2 years’ relevant experience in community work, disability services, or community development roles.</li><li>A Diploma in Community Services, or Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or an equivalent/closely related qualification is required.</li><li>Current First Aid and CPR certification.</li><li>NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.</li><li>Current NSW Working with Children Check.</li><li>National Police Criminal History Report with acceptable outcome.</li><li>Valid NSW Driver’s License and comprehensive car insurance.</li><li>Completion of NDIS Induction Module and Worker Orientation Module: Quality, Safety, and You.</li><li>Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.</li></ul>&nbsp;<h3>Desirable</h3><ul><li>Experience delivering services to children, young people, and adults.</li><li>Experience supporting Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, or culturally and linguistically diverse participants.</li><li>Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles.</li><li>Experience writing reports, funding submissions, and participant progress documentation.</li></ul>&nbsp;<h3>Skills &amp; Competencies</h3><ul><li>Ability to empathise with participants and foster meaningful engagement.</li><li>Strong time management and prioritisation skills.</li><li>Capacity to manage a caseload efficiently and effectively.</li><li>Ability to develop professional relationships with participants, families, and stakeholders.</li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.</li><li>Understanding of infection prevention, PPE, and workplace safety practices.</li><li>Resilience, initiative, and adaptability to change.</li><li>Performance will be measured against participant outcomes, program effectiveness, documentation accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.</li></ul>&nbsp;<h3>Personal Attributes</h3><ul><li>Professional and confident approach.</li><li>Positive approach to change.</li><li>Commitment to person-centred and empowering practices.</li><li>Ethical, reliable, and culturally sensitive.</li></ul>
